What Jars to Use for your Overnight Oats
There are many types of containers to use to make your overnight oats. I personally like the wide mouth 16 oz. Mason jars because they offer plenty of space for stirring and adding in your toppings.
I eat my oats right out of this jar. You can also use regular meal prep containers or any other glass jar with a lid.

Can you warm up your overnight oats?
Yes, you can. Just pop them in the microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring in between until they are warm. I do recommend trying the oats cold, typically that is the way they are served.

What you will need to make Easy Overnight Oats
This recipe will show you how to make a base then you can go ahead and mix in any add-ins and toppings that you choose.
Whole rolled oats – Aka old fashioned oats will give you a creamy texture. Steel cut or quick oats will not work. Using either one of these will change the consistency to make the oats too mushy and chewy. I prefer these Quaker Old Fashioned Oats.
Oat Milk – Or any milk of your choice. Almond milk, coconut milk or any dairy milk will work. I personally like unsweetened Vanilla Oat milk which adds a little flavor.
Greek Yogurt – Will make the oats extra creamy and add more protein. (Skip to make this recipe dairy free)
Cinnamon – Will add a warm distinctive flavor.
Honey – A great all natural sweetener.

Here is where you can get creative. Add in your favorite fruit, nuts or sweetener.
Below are a few sample recipes with add-ins you might enjoy.
Apple Pie
1/4 cup diced apples
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
Chocolate Strawberry
1/4 cup diced strawberries
1 teaspoons Nutella
1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips
Banana Peanut Butter Almond
1/2 sliced banana
1 tablespoon peanut butter
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
How to Make Overnight Oats
You will not believe how simple these overnight oats are to make.
1 – Place your oats into a lidded container or jar. Add in the yogurt, honey and cinnamon.
2 – Pour in the oat milk and stir well until combined.
3 – Cover and store overnight in the fridge.
4 – When you are ready to eat, give the oats a stir, add your toppings and enjoy!
If you are meal prepping the overnight oats they will last in the fridge for up to five days.
TIPS: I recommend adding any toppings right before you are going to eat the oats. That way if you add any granola or nuts, they will stay crunchy.
You can also prep the toppings the night before by putting them in little containers. I put my nuts, granola and fruit in snack bags so they are all ready to go.
