What is a Totcho?
A totcho is a fun and delicious mash-up of tater tots and nachos! Instead of tortilla chips, crispy tater tots are used as the foundation. They’re typically topped with a variety of flavorful toppings like melted cheese, chicken, veggies, and sauces, much like traditional nachos.
Totchos are popular for parties, game-day snacks, Super Bowl parties or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer. They’re endlessly adaptable, so you can make them as simple or as loaded as you like!

- Use parchment paper on your baking sheet for easy clean-up.
Let’s make BBQ Chicken Totchos!!
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray. Place tater tots in a single layer and bake for 30 minutes.

- While the tots are in the oven, shred the chicken. In a medium bowl, mix chicken and bbq sauce until evenly coated.

- Spread the BBQ chicken evenly over the tots.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and place back in the oven until melted and bubbling, about 10 minutes.

- Remove from oven and add all the toppings and drizzle with sour cream. Serve and enjoy!

Storing BBQ Chicken Totchos:
Totchos are best enjoyed fresh, as the tater tots can lose their crispiness when stored. However, if by chance you have leftovers, here’s how to store them properly:
- Allow the totchos to cool to room temperature before storing. This prevents condensation, which can make them soggy.
- Place the leftover totchos in an airtight container. If you need to layer them, separate each layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Store the totchos in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven to bring back some crispiness, for 10 minutes on 375 degrees.
