Growing up, our family events were always centered around food and the joy of being together. I can remember the first time I made chocolate-covered strawberries for my daughter’s christening. I wanted to add a dessert other than cake and cookies. I found the largest, sweet strawberries and covered them with creamy milk chocolate. I served them on a big platter and watched them disappear. The strawberries were a big hit. From that moment they became a staple at my family events.
Depending on the type of event, I would decorate them to match the occasion. Changing the color and flavor of chocolate and adding fun and festive candy or sprinkles. They make a great addition to any dessert table.
